Oregano
It is a spice widely used in Mediterranean cuisine. The Calabrians are very attached to this product, in fact historically in June the oregano harvest began (to be precise, tradition has it that it begins on June 24, the day of St. John the Baptist) and then it was taken to dark rooms and hung upside down to dry, once dry it was either preserved wrapped in sheets of paper or its threads including leaves were crumbled inside glass jars.
