Who we are
Don Giovannino is a small artisan bakery located in Porto Salvo di Vibo Valentia on the beautiful Costa degli Dei exactly between the two famous tourist destinations of Tropea and Pizzo Calabro . Although it was officially founded in 1982, its origins are actually much older, precisely because Giovanni, its founder, first set foot in a bakery at the age of 8 and since then, year after year, he cultivated this great passion of his. In the following years, after graduating and a brief work experience in the States, his children Giovanna and Francesco joined the company, adding a cafeteria and a small shop to the bakery and transforming the name of the sales outlet from " Re Pane " to " Don Giovannino ".
Over the years the bakery changed its name several times with specific dates:
- 1982 Nunzia and Giovanni open the Giacco bakery in Vibo Valentia Marina
- 1984 The bakery is moved to Porto Salvo in Via Roma 118, its current location
- 1987 saw the birth of the bakery "il Fornaio", the first bread-only retailer in the province of Vibo Valentia
- 1998 saw the birth of the bakery "Re Pane il re della tavola" in Via Popilia in Vibo Valentia (the provincial capital), thus creating the first true bread boutique in the province.
- 2002 the bakery "il fornaio" is moved to Via Senatore Parodi with a new design, taking the name of "Re Pane"
- 2014 on December 27th opens "Don Giovannino Italian Bakery & Coffee" on C.so Vittorio Emanuele III in Vibo Valentia
- 2015 opens the "Don Giovannino Italian bakery & coffee" in Tropea
- 2017 December 27th opens the "Don Giovannino Italian Bakery & coffee" in Piazza Bilotti Cosenza
